I left Friday and went into PR Monday at a salary of $15,000 but hated the work. I managed to stick in that whorehouse work four years before pulling up stakes and moving to Europe with my late wife. We earned peanuts as free-lance correspondents but lived a simple life and survived happily.<br /> <br /> Recently I read an article about the most stressful jobs in the USA with the least pay. I don't need to tell you about the stress of meeting deadlines etc. as a staff journalist. American journalists now average $35,000 (about €27,000). That is rated as poverty level in the USA.<br /> <br /> I am ashamed to admit how little my pension is after converting the low dollar into euros.
